Perfect blend of this biscuits with your regular cup of tea or Irani chai as best.
Believe me.. You all will fall in love with this baked goodies and will bake repeatedly. Irresistible essence of saffron will fill your home with the exotic aroma while baking.
Without boasting much.. Lemme type the recipe😄.
This recipe will yield 24-25 biscuits.
200 gms APF or maida
2 tbsp milk powder
2 tbsp vanilla custard powder
100 gms amul or salted butter at room
3/4th cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp milk
2 tbsp warm milk infused with few saffron strands for brushing pre-baking
Preheat oven @180° c for 10 minutes.
Line your baking tray with parchment paper.
Now take APF, milk powder, custard powder and baking powder in a bowl. Mix all well and keep it aside.
Now mix butter till creamy and then add sugar. Beat till fluffy. Add milk. Mix well.
Add dry APF mix into butter mix in 3 portions. Just mix till incorporated.
You can instantly roll them by dusting flour on your rolling surface and bake them or can make a big roll and cover with foil or cling film. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes take the roll out from the refrigerator and cut into equal roundels with a sharp knife.
I like the later one because when you cut them with knife it gives very crapy layer on top elaborating it’s crispiness.
Now place the unbaked roundels on baking tray. Brush them with saffron milk. This thing gives the real Osmanian taste to the biscuits.
Bake at 180° c for 10-15 minutes until you see golden edges.
