Hi all🙋🏻‍♀️,

After a long long break.. huh. We have so many priorities in life🙄.

Anyways… this Sunday I made this Manglorean prawn gravy PRAWN GASSI CURRY. After all it was my son’s demand and you know our children can expect anything from their parents😁.

It came out very well and tastes best if you enjoy this with kori roti, rumali roti, neer dosa or chapatti. Of course rice will be gud option too. All depends on our palette😋.

It’s very easy recipe and almost 99% ingredients must be available in your pantry.. even now😁. So don’t wait and get ready to treat your family with this Manglorean dish.

So the detailed recipe herewith which can serve 4 persons easily.

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

1 kg prawns (cleaned and deveined)

300 ml coconut milk

300 ml water

12 nos. green chillies.. you can minimise as per your taste

2 tbsp lime juice

2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste each

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp poppy seeds

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp sesame seeds

1 tsp fenugreek seeds

1 big bunch of fresh coriander

1 tsp turmeric powder

4 medium sized onions.. diced roughly

2 large tomatoes.. diced roughly

2” cinnamon

7-8 cloves

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp pepper powder

2 tbsp oil

METHOD:

First of all heat a pan. Combine the cumin seeds, poppy seeds, mustard seeds, sesame seeds, fenugreek seeds, cinnamon and cloves and add into the heated pan. Dry roast for 30-40 seconds or until you can smell the combined aroma of all the spices and seeds.

Now transfer the roasted mix into kitchen grinder and add onion, coriander leaves, cinnamon, cloves, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste and green chillies into the same grinder.

Now grind the spices until you get fine paste type consistency. Water is not required but still if you want to add, just use 1-2 tsp.

Now take oil in a deep vessel and heat it on medium flame. As soon as it gets heated, add the grinded spice and cook for 4-5 minutes. Keep frying on minimum flame.

As soon as you see oil released on the sides of the vessel, add coconut milk and plain water. Keep stirring till it boils.

Now add prawns, pepper powder and lime juice. Adjust the seasoning with salt.

Cover and cook on lowest flame for 4 minutes. Don’t cook more as the prawns will become chewy.

Now switch off the flame and enjoy garam garam😋.

KEEP COOKING👍🏻
