Hi all🙋🏻♀️,
Today I have come up with simple and made in jiffy recipe for Biryani. Recipe is borrowed from an authentic Bengali aunt. I always make this whenever feeling not to cook😂. Eventually have to cook so this one pot meal can be tried on.
I always eat this with nothing but you can combine green salad, papad and some chutney.
Hardly 15-20 minutes required for this recipe and this quantity can be served to 3 persons.
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
FOR BENGALI GARAM MASALA:
6 Whole green cardamoms
2” cinnamon stick
4 cloves
4 peppercorns
FOR BIRYANI:
8 baby potatoes or 4 large potatoes, cut in halves.. boil and peel it.
6 boiled eggs
oil to fry eggs and potatoes
1+1/2 tbsp ghee or clarified butter for preparing biryani
1+1/2 medium sized julienned onion
2-3 whole green chillies
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 cup basmati rice
3/4 tsp Bengali garam masala
Salt
METHOD:
FOR BENGALI GARAM MASALA:
Just finely grind all the ingredients of garam masala. You can still see the threads of cardamoms.. it’s ok. Rest of the spices should be grinded well. Very fine you won’t get all but make it fine as given in the pic above.
FOR BIRYANI:
First of all add oil in a pan and fry both the eggs and potatoes till golden brown. Keep it aside.
Take a pressure cooker. Add ghee and heat it. Add onions and fry only till soft and pink. Add ginger-garlic paste. Sauté for a minute.
Now add rice and here slightly you have to fry the grains for 2-3 minutes.
Now add garam masala and hot water. Take water as double from the layer of the rice. Add fried eggs and potatoes. Add salt. Give a whistle. Let the pressure release.
Serve hot.
KEEP COOKING👍🏻
