This was much awaited in my TO-DO BUCKET LIST✔️
Finally I made them this afternoon ☺️.
Taste is really divine and best when you eat warm, dipped in rich chocolate sauce. It can be accompanied with hot chocolate, dulce de leche or champurrado.
CHURROS are very common Spanish fried dough pastry. But common in France, Portugal, Philippines and Southwestern United States too. It can be thin or thick, long or short, elongated or curved or hooked. So play with the dough as much as you can☺️.
It is mostly relished in breakfast but no boundation as such🤗. You can enjoy them anytime😋.
This recipe can be served to 4-5 persons in breakfast or snacks with coffee or tea.
1 cup water
5 tbsp salted butter.. If using unsalted ones, add 1/4 tsp of salt
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 cup APF or maida
1 tsp vanilla essence
Oil to deep fry churros… About 1.5 cups
1/4 cup castor sugar or you can powder the granulated sugar too but it should be semi granulated.
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
IF CINNAMON INFUSED SUGAR IS AVAILABLE WITH YOU, BEST TO USE. I USED THE SAME.
Take water, butter and 1 tbsp of sugar in a saucepan. Place on your gas stove and boil until sugar and butter melts completely. Switch off the flame.
Now add flour and mix all well. No lumps should be there. You can use your hand though.
Now let the dough cool for 10 minutes.
Add eggs and vanilla essence. Combine all well. Here again I used my hand.
Now heat oil in a saucepan.
Now take a piping bag and fix star nozzle.
Transfer a portion of dough into the pastry bag and press. I pressed until got 3″ of churros out of the nozzle and then cut it with clean scissors.
I fried 6-7 churros in one batch at medium high flame but keep on switching the flame from low to medium and vice versa as required.
Flip the sides and as they got golden brown, strain them out and transfer on tissue. Repeat the same for the rest portions remained.
Now mix cinnamon with sugar and coat all churros well with it.
I enjoyed my churros with rich dark chocolate sauce.. !!! It’s finger licking good😋
