I came to know about this recipe from one of the members of foodie group.
This recipe yields 20-25 cube shaped barfis.
1/2 cup besan
1+1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup ghee
1/2 cup dessicated coconut
1/2 cup milk
Silver varq for garnishing
Heat a non-stick pan and dry roast the besan till you get its aroma. Colour changing of the besan is not required. Take it out in a clean plate.
Now in the same pan add half of the ghee.
Add besan, dessicated coconut, milk and sugar. Mix all well.
It will start boiling as the mix is very runny at this stage. Minimise the flame to lowest and keep on stirring the mixture. Keep on adding the remaining ghee while stirring at intervals. Meanwhile grease a square tray with ghee.
At one stage you will get the frothy consistency of the mixture and it will start leaving the sides of the pan.
Another option to check is to take a little bit of mix in a clean plate. It will cool down in seconds. Roll and make a smooth ball of it. If you are able to make as you can see in the pic, it means it is done.
Cut into desired shape when it is warm. Decorate them with silver varq.
